Axum is the first Ethiopian kingdom (followed by Lalibela and Gonder). But apart from large stelae fields that are believed to be graveyards for the mighty Axum has another treasure: The Arc of the Covenant is kept here. Only one chosen monk is allowed inside the little chapel. So how do we know the Arc is in there? Easy: No one else claims to have it.
