Frog on Sophie's wall, Chateau d'Oléron, FR (2015-06)

These are some of the most common questions I get asked about the website. If you have additional questions, please feel free to drop me a note or sound off in the comments.

notesontraveling.com was set up by Carola Bieniek from Berlin, Germany.

Easy answer: ‘Cause I can!

But seriously: English is THE language of world travelers. So I thought it makes sense to write in our language. There might be an occasional German post, when it makes sense to me, but other than that I’d like us to stick to English.

For my Walking Home Project I set up a German website: travel-b.de .

If you like what you’re reading on this website — Thank you! — and you’d like to support it, you can do so via PayPal: paypal.me/cbsoundso. Thank you!

But you can also support me by sharing the site with friends, family & travel mates via the sharing buttons on the left, subscribing to the newsletter, and following/sharing my social media profiles:

If you would like to contribute content, please read below “Can I contribute content to cbsoundso.world?”

Sure! If you have anything to say about traveling and traveling life, just send your idea to carola.bieniek[at]gmail.com, and if it fits within the concept of the website, consider yourself a contributor to the blog. Of course, you may cross-post content you have previously published elsewhere (as long as elsewhere doesn’t mind we don’t either). Just promise that the content is all yours.

Maybe. You see, I don’t swap links for the sake of improving anyone’s Google ranking. But if you have interesting content go ahead: offer it to me and if I like it, too, I’ll run it on the blog. If you have a website or a blog or a portfolio or… feel free to link up to that website, blog, portfolio or… from your contribution. And of course when the moment arises I hope you’ll do the same for me.

Maybe. Just shoot me an email to carola.bieniek[at]gmail.com outlining what you expect and what is in it for me and we’ll talk.

Correct. cbsoundso.world is participating in the Google AdSense program. Because after all there are some costs associated with running a site like this.

From time to time you will also see sponsored posts on the site. They might either be provided by a client (which would be marked in the author tag) or I might be asked to promote a certain product in one of my own posts. Either way, opinions stated by me are mine and I will never promote a product that I am not convinced is useful to the readers.

Lastly, I occasionally make use of affiliation programs, when I believe in a product and think it makes sense for me to showcase it on this website. But I also write about products I think are awesome and don’t get paid for the advertising. Because I like to point out awesome things for what they are: awesome. These are the affiliate programs I am currently participating in (January 2016):

  • Booking.com – I make most of my accommodation bookings through them (and Hostelworld) because once you’re signed up you get excellent deals, and the more you book the better deals you get access to…

One more: If you’d like to directly support me and the site, you can do so via PayPal: paypal.me/cbsoundso. Thank you!

Yes, please! There are three ways to go about this:

  2. Buy the image through the EyeEm Market: eyeem.com/u/cbsoundso.

You can also buy products with my photos on them:

Browse more Zazzle gifts.

If you like the products but would prefer a different image shoot me an email and let me know which one — I can make it for you.

Cool. Does it have to do with traveling? Or writing? Or project managing? Or creating a kick-as WordPress powered site like this one? Then I’d love to hear from you! Send your ideas to carola.bieniek[at]gmail.com.
