The Lonely Planet describes Marafa as one of the must-see places along the Kenyan coast, and even compares it to the Grand Canyon in the US. In my opinion Marafa is beautiful. But getting there is long, strenuous and dusty. And once you’re there the touts are waiting to rip you off. So only come if you’ve already got some Kenya travel experience and want to add that little special place to your list that most of even your traveler friends will have never been to.
