Saint Catherine’s is known for two things: It is the oldest operating (Christian) monastery in the world. And it houses the burning bush through which God told Moses to get the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai. These days the Greek Orthodox monks are, however, keeping a fire extinguisher nearby.
