African Trails group bathing in Karfiguela Falls, Burkina Faso (2011-12)

December 03, 2011. How do you counter those who want to terrorize you and stop you from living? Live life to the fullest!

So we spent the past days first in Bobo Dioulasso, eating Yoghurt and not visiting the local Castel brewery (twice); afterwards enjoying the cascades near Banfora; bush camping in the local sugar cane fields; swimming with the hippos in Lake Tenguere; then going back to Banfora and eating lots of ice cream, drinking home made rum at the Hotel Canne de la Sucre; chasing and not finding elephants at the Parc National De Deux Bales but seeing their tracks and hearing them take a bath at night. Along the way we blew two tires and made pancakes by the side of the road.

We’re now in Ouagadougou to get our Benin visa and the truck fixed. Here’s to life!
